May 30, 1987 — August 29, 2024

Mesquite, NV

Joseph Ray Chronister Jr., 37, passed away on August 29, 2024, in Las Vegas, NV. Joe was born on May 30, 1987 in Las Vegas, NV to Joseph Ray Chronister, Sr. and Cynthia Ann Haddock. Joe married Amanda Lynn Pomeroy in the Las Vegas, NV LDS Temple on September 1, 2012.

Joe was a beloved father, husband, son, and brother. He dedicated his life to the ones he loved. He was deeply proud of the family to which he was born and the friends he made into family. He cared deeply and passionately for them and their needs. He was fiercely loyal to his relationships and made sure to express his love on a regular basis.

His love for service and people extended in many directions. He served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Indiana, Indianapolis Mission from 2006-2008. It was important to him to share the same core values that meant so much to him. Upon return from his mission, he also served in various leadership capacities within the Boy Scouts of America. He tirelessly worked with Scouts as they earned their rank of Eagle Scout, an honor he previously earned for himself. Joe remained an honorable member and servant to his community and church.

Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed camping, recreational shooting, grilling, and smoking meat for family get-togethers. He loved going to sporting events and was the loudest yell in the crowd for his sons. He loved U.S. History and was very patriotic.

Joe is survived by his wife, Amanda; his two sons, Jace and James; his parents, Joe and Cindy Chronister; his brothers, Jeffrey (Chelsea) Chronister and Justin (Jane) Chronister; his aunts and uncles, James (Debbi) Chronister, Cathy (Rick) Coelho, John (Susan) Chronister, John Haddock, and Wayne Haddock; mother-in-law Terri (David) Anderson; his many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and many more that loved him. He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Johnny and Jackie Chronister, Wayne and Kathryn Haddock; his aunt, Cheryl (Randy) Jones; and his father-in-law James (Patricia) Pomeroy.
