Jonathan Nephi Williams, 29, passed away July 25, 2017 at home in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born September 1, 1987 to John M. and Pamela Rupp Williams. He married Kami Lynn Proctor Williams, June 21, 2008 in Woodland, Utah.
Jon had a life that was way too short, but he packed it with adventure, love, excitement, and turmoil. Those who were privileged to be part of his life will always appreciate the lessons he taught and the gifts he shared. He will live on through all of our memories. He was gruff but compassionate, tough but soft, and loved his wife Kami with all of his heart and soul. That love will comfort her forever.
Jon would always challenge you and push you outside of your comfort zone. He always put the needs of others before his own no matter how much pain he was enduring himself during his life long struggle to achieve inner peace. He would always ask how you were doing, and then take the time to listen and understand. Jon was able to understand what others were feeling and offered sage wisdom that was beyond his years, even if he couldn’t always heed his advice for himself. Our lives were all enriched forever for knowing him and we will draw comfort that he has finally attained the peace that he desperately sought. The universe will sorely miss what he had to offer.
Jon recently wrote the following words to comfort Kami when she lost her father, and we too can now heed his advice: "On the living spend your tears, for the dead feel no pain. They are never scared, never confused. They are not hungry nor sad. Do not allow time spent together and memories made to be tarnished in your mind by the sting of loss, but rather reflect fondly on a life well lived, and on so many of them improved by the unwavering love of companionship. In your time of mourning and indeed through the rest of your life cling tenaciously to that purest feeling of camaraderie, your love unmarred by the passage of time. Do not begrudge the setting of the sun or the cold night that follows - remember only the beauty of the sky on fire."
Jon is survived by his wife Kami Williams, Mesquite, NV; parents John & Pamela Williams, Mesquite, NV; grandmother Evelyn May Edgar Rupp, West Jordan, Utah; sister Jonelle "Jaye" Simons, Mesquite, NV; and twin sister Jessica (Adam) Earl, Morgan, UT; niece Avery Earl, Morgan, UT; aunts and uncles: Sherrie (Edwin) Partridge, Murray, UT; Virginia Ann (Gerard) Rossi, Santa Monica, CA; Lorraine Rupp, Murray, UT; Charlene (Craig) Young, Erda, UT; cousins: Abigayle Kendell, Murray, UT; Andrea (Thomas) Kendell, Murray, UT; Samantha Kendell, Murray, UT; Michael Rossi, Santa Monica, CA; Lindsay Rupp, Murray, UT; Willie Sylvester, Midvale, UT.
