Shane Jensen

Jon Shane Jensen, age 40, passed away Saturday, May 2 , 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in St. George, Utah on January 27, 1969 to Nephi and Arlene Thurston Jensen.

Shane lived in Mesquite, Nevada his entire life. He graduated from Virgin Valley High School in 1987. He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Shane loved the outdoors; he loved 4-wheeling, camping, fishing, hunting and going and shooting guns with his kids. His true love was in the work that he did with heavy equipment. As a boy he loved to read books about heavy equipment and this didn't change as he got older. He still loved to learn about the newest equipment and had to have the newest books on them.

He married Katherine Armstrong on October 16, 2004 in Mesquite Nevada. Shane was a caring man who loved to help others.

Shane is survived by his wife Katherine Jensen of Mesquite, NV; four children Deidre Jensen, Jessica Armstrong, Jade Jensen, and Kaylee Jensen all of Mesquite, NV; his mother Arlene Jensen of Mesquite, NV; four siblings Valerie Jensen of Mesquite, NV, Bruce Jensen of Lund, NV, Theron Jensen of Mesquite, NV, Kevin Jensen of Mesquite, NV and many other family members.

Services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11 am at the Whipple LDS Chapel in Mesquite, Nevada. Visitation will be Friday, May 8, 2009 from 6 to 8 pm at the Whipple LDS Chapel and on Saturday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Mesquite City Cemetery.
