Johnny Nathan Lee

Johnny Nathan Lee, age 68, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at his home in Moapa, Nevada. He was born December 15, 1941 in Overton, Nevada to Robert E. Lee and Verma Chappo Lee.

John grew up in Tecopa, California near Pahrump, Nevada and spent his summers in Moapa. While attending the Stewart Indian School, he joined the Marine Corps Reserves. After graduation, he went right into the Marine Corps. He later lived in Oakland where he worked as a nurse. He moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a truck driver for the US Postal Service. He later moved back to Moapa, working as an assistant manager of the Reservation green houses and then as a truck driver, as a member of the Teamsters Union Local 631.

He was very proud of his service to his country. He loved to travel. He loved cars, especially red and mustangs. He was very friendly, supportive and fun to be with.

Survivors include his sister, Lalovi (Fred) Miller of Moapa, NV; his brother in law, Preston Tom of Moapa, NV and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 4 p.m. at the Moapa Tribal Building. A Traditional Indian Sing will begin shortly after five. Interment will be Friday, June 18, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the Davis Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern ave., Las Vegas, Nevada.
