Johnnie A. Gosselin, 82, passed away on August 9, 2018 at her home in Mesquite, NV. Johnnie was born in Pyatt, AR on April 19, 1936 to John Wesley Austin and Georgia Armena Casey. At her passing, her loving husband, Bob, was at her side.
Johnnie had a gypsy soul. She got it from her father who was Native American, (his mother was Creek, his father was Cherokee). She spent very little time in Arkansas, and at age five, her family moved to Washington State. She married Thomas R. Anderson on December 8, 1956. They lived in Union Gap, WA with their two daughters, Marla and Marty, until Thomas passed away on April 24, 1971. In 1973, Johnnie later met Glen A. Gosselin and moved herself and two daughters to Spokane, WA to marry him. They were married on November 4, 1973 on Marla’s 16th birthday. Johnnie was elated to add Glen and his two daughters, Cindy and Glenna, to her family. Johnnie and Glen then moved to Colville, WA for retirement on a thirty-acre ranch until Glen’s passing in August 28, 1991. A few years later, Johnnie met Bob, and after a few years of traveling and RVing, they settled down in Mesquite, NV.
As Bob said, “Johnnie was the most loving person I have ever met”. She was one of those individuals who never met a stranger. She loved her family and would go camping and horseback riding with them often. She also loved to go hunting with her brother Dannie. Johnnie would often spend her summers as a camp ground host in Kettle Falls, WA and Caliente, NV.
Johnnie is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Osborne of Mesquite, NV, her daughters; Marla L. Anderson of Richmond, VA, Marty L. Kesler of Kelso, WA, and Glenna J. (Brandon) Smith of Selah, WA, her grandchildren; Jeremy (Andrea Brewer) Grundy of Longview, WA, Tommie (John) Knight, and Garret Smith of Selah, WA, and her great grandchildren, Johnnathan Austin, Rylee Grundy, and Harper Brewer-Grundy. Johnnie is preceded in death by her husbands; Thomas R. Anderson and Glen A. Gosselin, her parents; John and Georgia Austin, her three brothers; Tommie Austin, Dannie Austin, and Billie Austin, and her daughter, Cynthia A. Stephens.
