John (Jack) David Boyd Sr.

Jan 1,1942 - April 8, 2021 (79 years old)

Jack passed away at his home in Mesquite, Nevada with his loving family at his side after a long battle of multiple health issues. Jack was born in Provo, Utah to Aurilda and George Boyd. He married Judy Lopez on January 12, 1961, and enjoyed 60 years of love together. Jack proudly served his country in the US Army. He worked for UPS for 26 years where he was the number one driver in the Salt Lake City Hub. He was also one of the top driver trainers. Even after retiring he continued to instruct others how to drive.

Jack loved spending time with his family and was an avid outdoor sportsman. He would drop anything at the chance to go hunting, fishing and was always looking to catch the one that got away. If Judy would say "lets go camping," he was the first to jump in the motorhome. Jack had several hobbies including making wooden airplanes, rockets and puzzles.

Jack was very charismatic and made many friends along the way. He was always, "keeping it friendly" offering a smile and a wave wherever he went.

John had 4 children. Mike (Kristy), Sheri, John (Tauna), Shohn (Cristi), many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings and grandson Josh.

The family would like to give thanks to all the many friends who became family along the way. We Love and appreciate all of you.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The family invites you to leave a message or memory on their ‘Guestbook’ at virginvalleymortuary.com.
