John William Schoppmann, age 87, died Saturday, May 14, 2022 at his home in Beaver Dam, Arizona. He was born April 21, 1935 in Cedar City, Utah to Howard and Lola Irene Henroid Schoppmann. On July 18, 1958 he married Patricia Louise Leavitt in the Mesa Arizona LDS Temple.
John grew up in Caliente, NV Provo, Utah and Austin, NV. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada-Reno. He worked for NDOT for 19 years before a 30 year career at the Nevada Test Site. Before he retired, time was spent between Cold Creek, Nevada and Beaver Dam, Arizona. John loved to work hard and to help others with work projects. He took great pride in keeping the Littlefield Cemetery looking nice.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Beaver Dam, AZ; two daughters: Jaylene and Stephanie, both of Las Vegas, NV; grandson, Jerry Wilbanks of Las Vegas, NV; two great grandsons; two sisters: Janice Moore of Gardnerville, NV and Janette Miller of Henderson, NV.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 10 a.m. (AZ time) at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Littlefield Chapel, 3260 E. Old Hwy. 91, Littlefield, AZ. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Littlefield Cemetery.
