John Raymond Ryan

John Ryan, 65, our Legend, beloved father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away November 26, 2016 at his home in Mesquite Nevada. He passed with dignity and unexpectedly with friends and family near. He was born May 2, 1951, in Salt Lake City to Mildred Tueller Ryan and Jack R. Ryan. John was born and raised in Kearns and later graduated from Granger in 1969. In childhood, John and his brother Mike trained at the Murray City Boys Club where they earned their legendary boxing reputation. He later went to the Salt Lake Community College, and after he completed his apprenticeship, he began his lifelong career in the local union pipe trades, ending as a Union Organizer. During his career he helped hundreds of people join the Union and better their lives.

He raised his family in Sandy Utah, where he lived his passionate life. His passions included: lots of time with his family, cars, art, cooking, traveling, snow skiing, and golf. He had a big heart and lived his life to the fullest while providing excellent life for his family. He believed and lived Union. He is survived by the love of his life Debra Ryan; Son Joshua Ryan and his wife Jimianne Ryan; Grandchild Kaiden Ryan; Mother Mildred Winder; Sister Sheila Andersen; Brother Tony Ryan; Dog Jazz. Preceded in death by Father Jack Ryan; Brother Mike Ryan; Brother Danny Ryan.

The Celebration of Life will be Thursday, December 1st from 6-10pm at The Woods on Ninth 6775 So. 900 E. Midvale, Utah. The family invites you to leave a message or memory in their "Guest Book" at www.virginvalleymortuary.com.
