John Kay Mitchell
Mesquite, Nevada- John Kay Mitchell, 73, passed away November 4, 2010, at his home. He was born May 26, 1937, in Provo, Utah, to Arthur Harold Mitchell and Irva Gardner Mitchell. He married Patricia Hansen in 1956. Their children are Cynthia Mitchell Hanks, Michelle Mitchell Roberts (Randy), Todd Hansen Mitchell (Valorie), Brian John Mitchell (Jennifer). He married Deloris Jean Lyman Mitchell on September 4, 1987. Their children are Mitchell Lyman, Scott Lyman, Craig Lyman, Robert Lyman, Gordon Lyman, Chad Lyman. He had 30 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
John was raised in Provo, Utah, and Spanish Fork, Utah. He worked many years at Smith Auto in Spanish Fork and at Rick Warner Ford in Salt Lake City. He retired in 1992 and moved to Mesquite, Nevada, where he worked at the Oasis Golf Course. John loved being outdoors, fishing, hiking, boating and camping. He loved to travel and spend time at Lake Powell and Strawberry Reservoir. John loved his wife, his children and his dogs. He lived a rich, full life and enjoyed every minute of it.
There will be a private family gathering held to honor John and dedicate the urn.
