John Joseph Lustig

December 21, 1929 — July 9, 2008

John Joseph Lustig,78, passed away Wednesday July 9, 2008. Born Jean Lustigman, in Paris, France on December 21, 1929, came to the United States in 1938 with his mother and sister. In 1946 he joined the U.S. Army and went to Europe as part of Patton's 3rd army replacements. In 1949 he joined the U.S. Marines. Since 1962 he has been active in real estate and in 1965 he formed his own company. In 1968 he received his private pilot license and flying became a passion to the point where he owned five airplanes.

He is survived by his wife Charlene Y. Lustig; four children: Richard L. Lustig, Donald P. Lustig, Diana Beam, and Renee Barkalow; along with seven grandchildren: Jonathan, Jennifer, Danielle, Ian, Hailie and Nicholas. He is also survived by a brother, Georges Lustigman and a sister Evelyne Queroub, both residing in Roanne, France. His wife Charlene resides in Mesquite, and will continue to manage their company, Vacationland Properties, INC.

A graveside service will be held at the Mesquite City Cemetery Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 9:00 AM. As per John's request he will be laid to rest next to his stepson. In lieu of flowers John requests any offerings to be made to the Parkinson's Foundation and forwarded to Charlene Y. Lustig.
