John Edward Jamieson born April 13, 1950 to Ira and Alma Jamieson in Denver Colorado was called to Glory on August 20, 2021 in Mesquite, NV.
John was the youngest of 3 sons; Tom (Karen) Jamieson, Grand Island, NE. and Dave (Kathy, deceased) Jamieson of Phoenix, AZ. He spent his early years in Bond, a railroad town in the Colorado Rockies. The family moved to Denver when he was 5 where his dad worked for Denver Rio Grande Railroad. John attended Alameda High School in Lakewood where he met and married his bride of 52 years, Roberta L. (Holthus) Jamieson. His love of cars began at the early age of 8 helping his brother, Tom, and carried over into his 41-year career. John opened a successful auto repair business in 1972 and we bought our first home in Lakewood, CO. where many lifelong friendships were made.
We moved from Colorado to Seattle, Washington in 1979 and lived in the NW for 32 years attending Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bellevue, WA during that time. John retired in 2010 and we moved to Post Falls, ID to be close to the grandchildren. We bought a home in Mesquite, NV in 2017 to get out of the cold and snowy winters of the beautiful NW.
John loved to explore new places so we traveled extensively over the years, but his real love was spending time every year in Maui. John took up reading in his retirement years as well as swimming, golf and wood sculpting.
John is survived by his wife, Roberta Jamieson; his loving children, Alan J. Jamieson; Renee L. McHenry (son-in-law Shaun); two wonderful grandchildren; Jamieson Clara McHenry, and Gavin Smith McHenry, all residing in Spokane Valley, WA.
John spoke endlessly about his time spent with the grandkids while we lived in Idaho; bike riding, camping, building projects, school science projects, baseball, pickleball, two square and board games.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Mesa View Hospice 330 Falcon Ridge Pkwy STE 200A Mesquite, NV 89027.
