John Michael Deniro

August 19, 1939 — June 13, 2016

John Michael DeNiro, age 76, passed away on June 13, 2016. John was born in Murray, Utah to Mike and Angelina DeNiro. He graduated from Murray High School, earned a degree in accounting from the U of U in 1961 and passed the CPA exam in 1963. He was the senior partner of DeNiro and Thorne for many years before becoming CFO of American Asphalt and Grading company of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was president of the Nevada chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors in 2001 and a member of the board of directors for many years. He was an active member of the rotary clubs of Sugarhouse, North Las Vegas and Western Las Vegas and was a two time Paul Harris fellow.

John is survived by Elaine, his wife of 50 years and four children Cody, Carri, Michael and Nicole; two brothers Tom and Ray DeNiro of Moses Lake, WA; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. His son Clayton passed away in 2012.

John enjoyed hunting ducks, fishing and carving decorative duck decoys. Many of his creations are with friends and family members. John loved cruising and enjoyed trips with his wife and especially with his family. He had a great love for his family and friends and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

His family wishes to express their gratitude to Mesa View Hospice in Mesquite, NV who gave their time, expertise, and caring hands, to help John and Elaine in this time of need.

His Celebration of Life for family and close friends will be held on August 13 at 677 West 6300 South, Murray, Utah at the home of his daughter Nicole (Nikki) from 6-9 p.m.

Donations may be made to Ducks Unlimited in lieu of flowers. Interment in the Salt Lake City Cemetery will be held at a later date.
