John Richard Corwin

John Richard Corwin, age 83, died Sunday, September 13, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born October 14, 1925 in El Monte California to William Benjamin and Laura Estella Barton Corwin. On July 15, 1944 he married Juanita Mae Goodman in El Monte California. She preceded him in death on February 27, 2001.

John grew up in El Monte and secured a job driving trucks in the motion picture industry. Throughout his career he was able to travel to numerous locations. As their family grew, they moved several times within the Southern California area. When it came time to retire, they chose Overton Nevada. When Juanita passed in 2001, John lived with their daughter, Debbie, in Oregon for a time and then returned to their home in Overton. His favorite hobbies were welding and collecting an assortment of salvaged items. Survivors include five daughters: Linda Harris (Harvey Culp) of Milburn, Oklahoma; Chrissy Roberts (Mitch Cherrier) of Grants Pass, Oregon; Debbie (Paul) Graves of Grants Pass, Oregon; Barbara (Terry) Keil of Las Vegas, Nevada; Connie (John) Sasser of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; one son-in-law, Jim Harris of Alta Loma, CA; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister: Betty Simms of Arizona. He was preceded in death by one sister.
