John "Jack" William Carr

January 8, 1926 — August 29, 2013

Jack Carr, age 87, passed away on Thursday, August 29th, 2013 at his home in Mesquite, NV. He was born January 8, 1926 in Murray, UT to Frank Everald Carr and Cora Belle Wardell Carr. Mr. Carr spent his early years on ranches and cow camps between Utah, Colorado and Wyoming where he learned to be a top cow hand. He graduated from Pinedale High School, he joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in June of 1946. He continued working on ranches until he married Willa Muriel Clark December 24, 1954 in Pinedale, WY. He and Willa spent many years working for the Pinedale School District until they moved to Rock Springs where he worked for and retired from Western Wyoming Community College. He loved to fish, go camping, go dancing, travel, and work with various woods making beautiful lamps, tables, etc.

Jack was a member of the American Legion Rock Springs Chapter, Eagles Fraternal Order #151, was Past Master of Rock Springs Masonic Lodge, Past Worthy Patron of Mount Lily Chapter of Order of Eastern Star, Past Worthy Grand Patron of Grand Chapter of Wyoming Order of the Eastern Star, and held a 33rd Degree of the Scottish Rite Council in Wyoming.

Mr. Carr is survived by daughter Frances(Wilfred) Carrier who also lives in Mesquite, NV. Grandchildren are: Roberta Townsend, Bert and John Carrier, Cheryl Shaul, Peggy Buffington, Rob and Kurtis Shaul, Jason and Justin Albiston and Jennifer Robertson and several great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Willa, one brother Joe, and sons Robert and William Shaul.

Graveside funeral services and interment will be Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Pinedale Cemetery in Pinedale, WY.
