Johanna Burghart Rawson, age 80, died Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born August 10, 1927 in Buxheim, Germany to Kaspar Melchior and Johanna Oefner Burghart. On February 6, 1952 she married James Howard Rawson in Sonthofen, Germany. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1988.

Johanna grew up in Germany. She met Jim while he was serving in the US Army in 1947. She was working as a nanny for a US Military officer. After their marriage, they lived moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where they lived out their lives. She worked for many years as an ordering clerk for (Company Name) and later for the Clark County School District in their cafeteria. She loved the outdoors, animals and fishing. She loved spending time at their cabin at Mammoth Lake, walking, boating and fishing.

Survivors include her daughter, Gisela (Al) Williams of Goodyear, AZ; one granddaughter, Jamie Gisele Vasquez of Albuquerque, NM; three great grandchildren and one sister, Mathilde (Rudolf) GA�ble of Germany. She was preceded in death by one grandson and three brothers.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Las Vegas 6th Ward Chapel, 6100 W. Alta Dr., Las Vegas, Nevada. Visitation will be from 10 - 10:45 prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Logandale Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary, 702 398-3600. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund or to the Nathan Adelson Hospice.
