Joan Roberts Bacso
Joan Roberts Bacso (nee Sweo) was born December 24, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio passed away on June 1, 2013, in Mesquite, NV after a long battle with a rare neurological disease, Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA) . Joan was the second child of four born to Benjamin J, & Flora R. Sweo (both deceased). Graduated from Lakewood High and Kent State University, taught in Fairview Park, Rocky River, and Lakewood, OH, public schools. She was a naturalist/instructor with specialization in the preschool area with the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center. Until retirement, the Bacso's lived in Wayzata, MN, Sandy, UT, Cleveland OH suburbs of Bay Village & North Ridgeville, Salt Lake City, UT and Mesquite, NV. Mrs. Bacso taught adult education classes in stained glass and "Thrift Shop Shopping." She was a member of Desert Dames, The Red Hat Ladies, Assistance League and was on the Leadership team for Stephen Ministry. She joined PEO in Cleveland, OH (a Philanthropic And Educational Organization for Woman to help woman finance college) then became a member of the AD chapter of PEO in Sandy, UT and finally transferred to Mesquite, NV where she started the AM chapter. Joan is survived by Donald, her husband of fifty-two years, sons Dean (Kathy) and David (Todd) and 3 grandchildren. There will be Memorial service at the Methodist Church on Sunday, June 16, 2013, at 2:00 PM.
