Jesse David Taylor Jr

Jesse David Taylor Jr, 80, passed away Monday, August 3, 2009 at his home in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born July 13, 1929 in Waverly, Tennessee to Jesse David Taylor Sr and Janet Shaw Taylor. He married his companion of many years Kathy Wetzel Taylor on Oct 2, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

At a young age, Jesse's father passed away and left his mother to raise the family. Jesse learned the value of hard work at a young age and did not receive much of a formal education. Later in life, he moved to California were he worked at a number of different jobs. He was a bus driver and later was the director of transportation for the school district. In 1984, during the Olympics in Los Angeles, he was in charge of the bus transportation for the event. In 1999 he retired and moved to Mesquite to enjoy golfing and sitting in the garage looking out at the mountains and solving the world's problems with his brother-in-law, to which no one would listen..

Jesse was a handyman who enjoyed working in the yard and helping his children with around the house projects. He was a people person who got along with everyone he met. He was a true good Samaritan, always helping those who were less fortunate than he.

He is survived by his wife Kathy of Mesquite, NV, three children William (Amy) Wetzel of Las Vegas, NV, Raymond (Lysandra) Wisrock of Goodyear, AZ, Frank (Ginger) Wetzel of Norwalk, CA, 5 grandchildren; a sister Lou Lou Tester; a brother Charles Taylor;. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at Virgin Valley Mortuary on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Virgin Valley Mortuary.
