Jerry VanDyck
Jerry Wayne VanDyck, 71, of 361 Honeysuckle Lane in Mesquite, NV, passed away on August 17, 2009. Jerry was born July 18, 1938 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Clarence and Josie VanDyck. The family moved back to their home state of Oklahoma in 1947. Jerry completed his schooling in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
Jerry served in the United States Navy form 1958 until 1961. He worked as a mechanic until his retirement.
He is survived by sons Rodney VanDyck of Aztec, New Mexico and David Baker of Mesquite, Nevada. Jerry resided with his oldest daughter and son-in-law, Steven and Regina Everett, for 14 years in Mesquite, Nevada. He is also survived by daughters Jerri (Ken) Stiles of Nevada, Missouri and Karen Sue Smith of Mesquite, Nevada; nine grandchildren, Kyle Wayne Stiles, Percy Slade Stiles, Katelyn Marie VanDyck, Adam Davis Trussel, Jesse James Everett, Jeremiah Everett, Brandon Everett, Mychalea Dawn Baker and Jeffrey M.P. Smith; sisters, Sybil Stevenson and Myrna Sloan of Washington state; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Victor VanDyck and Stanley VanDyck, and wife Patsy Jean Baker VanDyck.
Jerry was a loving father, husband and a best friend to all he knew, and he will be missed and never forgotten.
