Jerry Jarvis

Jerald Lynn "Jerry" Jarvis, age 69, died Monday, December 13, 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada, after finally succumbing to a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born Febraury 5, 1941 in Mackay, Idaho to Alton Lorenzo and Elda Christoffersen Jarvis. On March 7, 1981 he married Betty Jo Steele in Alamo, Nevada. They were later sealed in the Las Vegas LDS Temple. Jerry spent his youth in Clearfield, Utah until he enlisted in the US Navy. After his honorable discharge, he served a mission for the LDS Church in Germany. His first marriage to Patricia Husband brought two wonderful daughters. In 1980, he moved to Alamo, he soon met and married Betty Jo and soon became the proud father of two. He was blessed with five grandsons and two granddaughters and he loved to be involved in their activities. He leaves behind many people who loved him dearly - his wife, Betty Jo of Hiko, NV; three daughters and one son,: Karolyn (James) Crabtree of South Jordan,, UT; Karlene (Jesse) Romo of Las Vegas, NV; Christina (Gordon) Smith of Alamo, NV; "Tommy" Thomas of Hiko, NV; five grandsons and two granddaughters; two sisters: Carol and Connie. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and George. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Alamo LDS Chapel, Alamo, Nevada. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Alamo Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary, 702 398-3600.
