Jennifer L (Begay) Nez

Jennifer Lou Nez, age 67, died Sunday, July 3, 2022 at her home in Moapa, Nevada.  She was born February 12, 1955 in Caliente, Nevada to John David Begay and Juanita Bow Kinlichinie.  On December 17, 1973 she married David Gene Nez, Sr. in Lukachukai, Arizona.

Jennifer grew up in California and later in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  She began her family in Lukachukai before moving to Moapa in 1999.  She enjoyed college classes and later working as a teacher’s aide.  She worked at an archaeology dig near Parker, Arizona.  She later worked community hours in partnership with Americorps.  She enjoyed hiking, listening to music and exploring the desert.

Survivors include her husband, David; two daughters, Lenora Kinlicheene of Tsaile, AZ;  Sharon Nez of Lukachukai, AZ; two sons, Loren and David, Jr both of Phoenix, AZ; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Moapa Chapel.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services.  Interment will follow in the Moapa Indian Cemetery.  Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
