Jason Scott Cox, 39, passed away January 30, 2015 at his home in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born December 26th, 1975 in Torrance, California to George Harvey Cox and Sandra Lynn Delongchamp. He married Leanna Maria Befort on September 9th, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jason was raised in Torrance, CA where he enjoyed snowboarding, skateboarding, video games, and learning from his father the most he could on computers. After graduating from High School, he went to study at Golden West College in Orange County, CA. After a year of study, Jason then chose to forego further study and pursue a career in computer programing. In 2006 he met his future wife Leanna at her work. On March 16th, 2008, Jason and Leanna had their son, Kyle. Jason and Leanna then were married in Las Vegas September 9, 2009. Jason was well known for his giving nature. He spent much of his time in service to others. Cooking was his passion and he blogged his favorite recipes. He enjoyed serving as a Cub Scout Master and his time working on computers as well. Above all, he treasured his family.
Jason is survived by his wife, Leanna Maria Cox who resides in Mesquite, NV; his son Kyle Scott Cox; his father, George Harvey (Evey) Cox, Mesquite, NV; his mother, Sandra Lynn (Doug) Schoonover, Huntington Beach, CA; his brother, Sean Michael (Mindy) Cox; his half-sister, Julie Ann (Mike) Wempen; step-sisters: Shelby (Keith) Schoonover and Jamie Goldbuam; step-brothers: Skott Schoonover, Bill (Rosa) Waltman and Todd Kahler, along with many nephews and a niece.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Casa Blanca on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 4 to 6 pm. In lieu of flowers there is an account set up at Mountain America.
