Janice Whicker Janice Moody Whicker, 69, of Mesquite, fought a long and courageous battle with cancer and passed away Nov. 18, 2011. She was born Jan. 18, 1942, in Salt Lake City, the second of seven children to Floyd and Connie Moody. After she was born, the family moved to Hinckley, Utah on a large farm, where Janice loved life. Later, they moved to Delta, Utah when she was in high school. These were her happiest days. She met and married her high school sweetheart, Jim Whicker. They moved to Las Vegas in 1959 and had three children together, Dean Debbie and Marty. Their marriage lasted 32 years. Janice and her sister, Marge, decided to move to Mesquite in 1997 to make a home for themselves there. They both worked at the local casinos and loved the small time city life. Janice was preceded in death by her son, Dean; sister, Marge; brother, Jay; and both of her parents. Janice is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Don); son, Marty; brothers, Lamar (June), Turk (Joyce) and Max; sister, Cindy (Jon); her beloved grandchildren, Emmy and Jesse; and many loved nieces and nephews. Viewing will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 East Old Mill, Mesquite. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m., at United Methodist Church, 420 N. Pioneer Blvd., Mesquite.
