Janet Kay Anderson peacefully passed away on August 8, 2012 at her home in Overton, Nevada after a gallant battle with cancer. The daughter of Okey Clifford and Esther Florence Williams Burgess, she grew up in Hialeah, Florida and raised her family in Miami. In 1973 she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she later met her husband Glen Eugene Anderson. They were married on March 19, 1996 and moved to Overton, Nevada in 1999. An avid painter, jewelry maker, and collector of Native American Art, Janet enjoyed traveling and the outdoors. She was especially proud of her service to the Moapa Valley Art Guild and the Guild's Scholarship Program. Janet is survived by her husband Glen of Overton, NV; three children: Paul (Wendy) Oesterle, Judge Nancy Oesterle, Cindy (Chris) Prescott; two bonus children: Michelle (Steve) Castle , Daniel (Tracy) Anderson; bonus daughter in law, Kathy; one sister, Roberta Burgess; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her bonus son, Glen Anderson. In lieu of flowers or donations, Jan asked that her friends do something nice for someone, lend a helping hand, share a laugh with a friend, hug your dog, smile at someone in need, make a new friend, make that call or write that letter that you haven't gotten around to, and love the ones you have just a little bit more. "You gave me flowers while I was with you and I no longer need them. I will hold the ones you gave me - and each of you - close to my heart forever."
