James Wilson Francis

James Wilson Francis passed away quietly December 20, 2012 at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jim (as he was called) was born December 25,1949 in Ogden, Utah to Homer and Marie Francis. Jim was raised in Morgan, Utah where he was active in sports. He graduated from Morgan High School in 1968. He worked for Morgan City as a Sexton until his retirement. Jim enjoyed all outdoor sports as well as being a great booster for the Morgan High School teams. He especially loved cycling. Jim married his sweetheart, Kathy Hyatt March 18, 1983 in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. They had four children. Jim was very active in the LDS Church. Two of his favorite callings were the Scouting program which he served in for several years during which time he earned his Woodbadge and the missionary program. Jim was called as a Stake Missionary for many years. One part of being a missionary he really enjoyed was participating as a leader in the Twelve Step Program. Jim is survived by his wife, Kathy; children Amanda Jane Sullivan (J. B.) of St. George, Utah; Steven James Francis Mesquite, Nevada; Michael Wilson Francis (Jessica) of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jaime Marie Francis, St. George, Utah. Jim has one granddaughter, Charstie and a foster son, Jared Prenovost. He is also survived by three brothers; Michael Francis (Dianne) of San Luis Obispo, California, Randy Francis (Barbara) of St. Anthony, Idaho and Roger Francis (Carma) of Rexburg, Idaho. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Homer and Marie Francis and two nieces. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 29th at 11:00 a.m. at 100 N. Arrowhead Lane, LDS Mesquite Fourth Ward, Mesquite, Nevada. Friends may call at the Virgin Valley Mortuary Friday from 6 to 8 P.m. and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Church. Interment will be in the Mesquite Cemetery.
