James "Jim" Combs

Jim Combs, 62, passed away September 1, 2015 in St. George, UT. He was born on March 31, 1953 to James Combs and Ida Knutson.

After Jim found the love of his life, he married Jennifer D'Arrigo Combs on December 17, 1988 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Jim was raised, and enjoyed his childhood in Polson, Montana and Longview, Washington. He worked most of his life as a roofer and carpenter, which he was very good at. His final job was working for the Eureka Hotel. He lived in Kennewick, WA; Livermore, CA; Fremont, CA; Brentwood, CA; and Mesquite, NV. He loved being with his wife and enjoyed traveling, so together they traveled as much as they could.

Jim is survived by his wife, Jennifer D'Arrigo Combs; son David Bernard, Mesquite, NV; and grandson, Colton Bernard, Mesquite, NV.

He is also survived by his other children Shawn Combs, Longview, WA; Shannon Avila (Robert), Umatilla, OR; Jaime Guard, WA; Joshua Green-Combs (Karen), WA; Patrick Combs, ID; and Kathleen Pennington-Combs, ID. Grandchildren; Colton Bernard, Kailee Bernard, Mersadees Avila, Alexus Avila, Emily Green-Combs, and Tiberius Green-Combs; brother, Colin Combs, Mesquite, NV; sisters, Edith Combs, Cheryl Combs, Hope Kovas (Jim) Mesquite, NV, Colleen Otton, Longview, WA, Holly Whiteclevitts, MT; and his mother, Ida Combs, Mesquite, NV and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jim Combs, WA; brother Patrick Combs; sisters, Wanda Combs, Rhonda Combs, and Linda Joy Combs.

Jim retired from the Eureka Hotel, Mesquite, NV in 2013. He had numerous friends and co-workers that he held fondly in his heart, especially Gordy.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at the Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 East Old Mill Road. All friends and family are invited to attend.
