James Braxton Carson II, age 67, passed away on December 28, 2024 in St. George, UT. Jim was born in Rochester, MN to James Braxton Carson and Sherril Christine Thede. Jim was raised mostly in Minnesota where he developed a love for cars and hunting. He was very close to his grandparents, Pal and Loa Thede. After a couple years living in Texas, Jim helped move his mother and siblings back to Minnesota, where Jim saw “TC” Patrice Alene Aaron, walking past the Dean's office the very first day. Jim and TC starting dating, and once TC turned eighteen, they were married in Bloomington, MN on April 2, 1977. They had three children in less than three years. On October 10, 1986 Jim, TC and their children were sealed as a family for eternity, in the Dallas Texas Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Jim moved his family to Texas so that he could learn the construction trade from his father, a trade that he passed down to his sons and grandson. Over his forty-six-year career he had the opportunity to work alongside his father, brothers, and sons. When his kids were young, he moved them to Las Vegas, NV, before settling in Logandale, NV in 1992.
Jim had an amazing talent for commercial carpentry and exceled in every aspect in his field. He built a reputation and a legacy for his abilities, work ethic and fairness to all. He taught to never cut corners, to get good, then get fast, and the importance of careful planning. He loved working on cars, and holds the record for amateur drag racing at the Las Vegas Speedway. Jim was also an avid NASCAR fan and attended the races in Las Vegas every year from its inception until 2020, row 24 start finish line. Jim loved his family, and taught that loyalty mattered. He loved his wife, TC, and would always express his gratitude for her and always wanted her close.
Jim is survived by his wife, TC; his children, Krystina Ann (Adam Rosenthal) Carson, James Anthony (Elisabeth) Carson, and Aaron Robert (Tysha) Carson; his seventeen grandchildren; his six great-grandchildren; his siblings, Lisa (Joe) Matvey, Clifford (Cris) Carson, Mark Carson, and Jodi (Ron) Hurtado; and his in-laws, Ted and Shirley Aaron.
