James Candelas, age 87, died Saturday, October 24, 2020 in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born December 5, 1932 in Los Angeles to Savino and Aloita Aguirre Candelas.
James grew up in Los Angeles. He served in the US Army, 82nd Airborne Division, during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a concrete mason for many years in the Los Angeles California area, before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada. After 15 years, he retired to Beaver Dam, Arizona in 2000. While living in Beaver Dam, he created the military monuments, that are found standing in the Beaver Dam Cemetery. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the LA Dodgers. James was always friendly and social, he enjoyed many friends in Beaver Dam.
Survivors include two sons: James (Susie) Armenta of Ventura, CA; Steve (Dawn) Candelas of Henderson, NV; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one brother, Joe Perez. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Artea; one granddaughter, Lauren and four brothers, Phil, Roger, Tito and Ralph.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at the Beaver Dam Cemetery, Beaver Dam, AZ at 11:00 a.m.
