Jack And Katherene Faught

d. September 20, 2021

Bunkerville, NV

J ack and Kathy, married for over 55 years, departed this earthly life minutes apart, hand in hand on Monday, September 20, 2021 in Southern Utah.  Jack Gordon Faught was born August 9, 1946 in St. George to Henry Albert and Bessie Bundy Faught.  Katherene Hardy Faught was born February 17, 1946 in Hurricane, Utah to Elwood Warren and Anna Scow Hardy.  On May 28, 1966, Jack and Kathy were married in St. George LDS Temple for time and all eternity.  Together, side by side, they completed this portion of their eternal journey.  It is a tender mercy that they never have to know what it feels like to be alone.  Theirs is a beautiful, yet tragic, fairytale.
Jack lived most of his life in the Virgin Valley.  Jack was respected as a hard worker, problem solver and as an honest businessman.  A man of his word.  He could do a little bit of everything.  He owned and operated Virgin Valley Disposal and was proud to work with his sons and to leave them with the future.  He enjoyed working with his hands and on cars.  He loved hunting and camping and going to their Pine Valley Cabin with his family.
Kathy also lived most of her life in the Virgin Valley.  She worked for many years as a bus driver.  The final years of driving the bus, she slipped and fell from the bus steps.  This was the beginning of her long history with chronic back pain.  She enjoyed cross stitching, puzzles and supporting her children.  She was a devoted daughter, mother, sister and most especially, cherished being grandmother.
Jack and Kathy were dedicated to each other and their family, and that always remained their priority.  They always showed up.  They were constantly serving and striving to lift.  Their generosity was boundless.  They worked together to create beautiful memories, especially for the Christmas and Easter holidays.  They were influential and well respected in their community.  They were both brokenhearted when they lost the companionship of their sweet dog of 12 years, Revo, last September.
Survivors include one daughter, Kasandra (Andy) Leavitt of St. George; two sons: Elwood (Tara); Slade (Romy) both of Bunkerville; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.  They were preceded in death by two twin grandsons, Reece and Riley Leavitt.
Jack is survived by two brothers and four sisters: Lauretta Faught, Roy (Shari); Guy (Pat);  Ramona Crane; Oneta Peterson and Winona Faught.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles.
Kathy is survived by one brother, Ronald (Venita) Hardy and one sister, Annette Threlkeld.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Thenelda Myers.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Mesquite LDS Stake Center.  Visitation will be Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 6 - 8 p.m. and again Monday, October 4, 2021 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services, both at the Stake Center.  Interment will follow in the Bunkerville Cemetery.  Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.virginvalleymortuary.com
