J. Gale Mullis passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at her home in Mesquite, NV. Gale was born to Galen and Louise Hieronymus on August 24, 1930 in Kansas City, MO.
Gale grew up in Kansas City graduating from Southwest High School in 1947 and attended Baker University in Baldwin, KS. She married Chuck Mullis July 7, 1951. They had three children: Linda, Chad and Galen, all of whom currently reside in Las Cruces, NM.
Gale and Chuck lived one and one half years in Texas, four years in Florida, two years in Missouri, four years in Indiana, five years in Ohio where as a Volunteer Aide she earned her Nurses Aide Cap, three years in Virginia and a total of twenty-five years in New Mexico.
A career bookkeeper, Gale enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading, jewelry making, sewing, gardening and playing games on the computer. A born again Christian, she was active in Choir and many other activities of the church. She worshiped wherever she felt the presence of God–even sitting quietly at her computer. Gale and Chuck retired from White Sands Missile Range, NM in 1993, living eight years in Carson City, NV, eventually moving to Mesquite in 2003.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Keaton Lee Mullis. She is survived by her husband, three children, six grand children, three great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
A fervent believer in living memories, no formal services will be held. Cremation has taken place.
