Irene Alice Johnson

Irene A Johnson age 85, passed away on April 1, 2009 in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 5, 1923. She was married to Patrick J. Dalton on June 20, 1946. Together they had six children: John Patrick, William Kenneth, Micheal James, Irene Grace, Kathleen Alice, and Patrick Anthony Dalton. Irene second marriage was to Simon Raymond Johnson on October 29, 1980. Both husband preceded her in death.

Irene graduated form Colorado State University in December of 1969 with a degree in home economics and from University of Washington with a Masters degree in social work in 1974. Her work experience included training towards a RN at Henry Ford Hospital and war factory work during World War II. Irene was also a elementary school teacher, social worker supervisor and lastly a counselor and supervisor at the Southern Nevada Mental Health Center in Las Vegas. Irene most cherished occupation was as a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being a sacristan at the Saint Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bunkerville, Nevada. Irene other interest include quilting , knitting, watching baseball, and daily bingo. She is survived by her six children, a brother Jack Gardner, two sisters Betty Murray and Phyllis Marek.

A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday , April 14, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bunkerville, NV.
