Ira Dale Bailey, 89, passed away on August 7, 2024 in Overton, NV, in his home surrounded by loved ones. Dale was born on April 15, 1935 in Downey, CA to Ira Bailey and Almira Dellana Jack. He attended school in Alamosa, CO where he graduated as the Salutatorian in a class of two, himself and his cousin. He married Sherra Lee Hull on December 20, 1975 in Oakland, CA, and they moved to Roseville, CA. He worked at McClellan Air Force Base as an Air Plane Mechanic and owned and operated several different mechanic shops and service stations. He worked for another twenty years at Home Hardware in Overton, NV as a manager. Even after retiring, he would often help others around town when they needed it. He loved the outdoors, going camping, hunting, and fishing. He would often take his grandchildren out coyote calling, and sharing his love of the outdoors with them. He loved working in the garage and reloading ammo. He was quiet, but had a great sense of humor, always teasing his kids and grandkids, and sharing the same dad jokes he would always tell. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, especially the little babies and kids.
Dale is survived by his wife, Sherra Lee Bailey; his children, Mark I. Bailey, Dalisay (Darrell) Shyface, Carrie (Aaron) Schroeder, Aaron D. (Amy) Bailey, Rebekah (Devan) Reese, Charity (James) Hardy, and Christina (Weston) Goddard; his grandchildren, Jaden, Alexa, Lucas, Markus (Calista), Kaila (Puna), Maika, Dakota, Victoria, Hilary (Mark), Shawn, Shyra, Stephanie, Sianna, Parker, Shailey, Caden, Daxon, Zoe, Stryker, Steel, Lillian, Weston, and Paisley; his great-grandchildren, Remy, Conor, and Alana; and his siblings, Walter, Leona, Bonnie, and Edna. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Della Bailey; and his brother, Robert Bailey.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Overton, Nevada Chapel, followed by the Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at the Logandale Cemetery.
