Ila Adams Winsor, age 95, passed peacefully Saturday, February 15, 2014 in St. George, Utah. She was born August 2, 1918 in Littlefield, Arizona to Louis and Lillian Frehner Adams of St. Thomas, Nevada. On October 28, 1937 she married Vasco Gilbert "Scott" Winsor in Mesa LDS Temple, Arizona. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2000.
Ila grew up in St. Thomas, Nevada. She lived most of her life in Moapa Valley, other than a short time in Texas and later in San Diego just prior to and during WWII. She worked as a secretary for the Soil Conservation Service early in her life and later supporting her husband in his business ventures, A&W Farms, (Created in 1960) and Vegas Valley Milk Processing Plant. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved her family and always enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include two daughters: Erlene (Ron) Marshall and Pamela (Curtis) Barber both of Logandale, NV; 8 grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 28 step great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: Keith of Danville, CA; Colleen Nelson of Salt Lake City, UT and Elwyn (Verla) Adams of Logandale, NV. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Lysha Marshall; 1 step grandson, David Barber; two step granddaughters, Robin and Dawn Barber; and 2 step great grandsons, Kyler Ericksen and Caleb Barber and one step great granddaughter, Jennifer Barber.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Stake Center, 2555 N. St. Joseph, Logandale, Nevada. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.
