Ida Mae Charles Guzman
Ida Mae Guzman, age 63, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013 in Reno, Nevada. She was born August 28, 1950 in Moapa, Nevada to Peterson and Dorothy Mike Charles. She married Bryant Jake, they had six children and were later divorced. She later married Victor Guzman in Schurz, Nevada.
Ida grew up in Moapa. She graduated from Virgin Valley High School where she was a cheerleader. She raised her family in Cedar City, Utah and Schurz, Nevada. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed writing, reading and listening to Elton John
Survivors include her husband, Victor of Schurz, NV; three sons and two daughters: Tanya Blackhorse of Cedar City, UT; Kirby Jake; Connie "HoHo" Jake; Kyle Jake; Kelby Jake all of Cedar City, UT; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Andrea (Kenny) Etsitty of Moapa, NV; Doreen Charles of Las Vegas, NV; Calvert Charles of Moapa, NV. She was preceded in death by two sons, baby boy Jake and Wilber Jake, her parents and two brothers and one sister, Berniece, Heber and and Delbert.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Moapa Paiute Tribal Building. A Traditional Indian Sing will follow. Interment will be Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Sunrise in the Moapa Tribal Cemetery.
