Hubert Everett Simons

Hubert Everett Simons, age 76, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born January 11, 1932 in Beaumont, Texas to Theodore John and Cecil Alice Heathcote Simons. On November 5, 1952 he married Hazel Patricia Simons in Richmond, California. After 55 years of marriage, she passed away on November 9, 2007.
Hubert grew up in Washington, Iowa. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict, then raised his family in Pomona, CA where he worked in the Sheet Metal LA Local #105 Union for many years. He retired to Overton, Nevada where he built his home that he was very proud of. He loved to tinker in his work shop and enjoyed working with wood. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his son, Michael (Linda) of Victorville, CA; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers and five sisters. He was preceded in death by one son, John, one brother and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held Monday, December 29, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 - 10:30 a.m. at the Calvary Community Church in Overton, Nevada.
