Herbert Grant Watkins, age 78, died Saturday, September 15, 2012 in St. George, Utah surrounded by his family. He was born January 15, 1934 in Provo, Utah to Ira Oray and Ida Jane Snyder Watkins. On February 28, 1958 he married Marcia Dee Reynolds in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Grant grew up in Provo, Utah. He raised his family in Orem and Stockton, Utah and in 1993 he moved his family to Moapa, Nevada. He made a living as a professional truck driver, but he lived as a farmer, sometimes for the crops, but mostly for raising children. He was driven by his boundless curiosity. He loved to serve others and he could fix anything, including broken hearts. He served faithfully in the church, as a bishop, primary teacher and in many other callings. He and his wife served missions in Cranbrook, British Colombia and the Warms Springs Recreation Area in Moapa. He will be remembered for his devotion to his wife, family, neighbors and his Heavenly Father.

Survivors include his wife, Marcia of Moapa, NV; five sons and two daughters: Kirk (Paula) of Santa Clara, UT; Gary (Kimberly) of Moapa, NV; Janette (Robert) Clayton of Rexburg, ID; Bonnie (John) Thomas of Elmo, UT; Steven (Shirley) of Pleasant Grove, UT; Tim (Kathy) of Moapa, NV; John (Cynthia) of Spanish Fork, UT; 28 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters: Richard (Frances) of Orem, UT; Jenae Parker, Leila (Bruce) Hill all of Provo, UT; Carol (Myron) Prestwich of Orem, UT; Jim of Provo, UT; sister in law, Fern of Provo, UT; brother in law, Cecil Carroll of Pullman, WA. He was preceded in death by one great granddaughter, one brother and two sisters. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Moapa LDS Chapel, Moapa, NV. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Warm Springs Cemetery.

Directions to Moapa LDS Chapel: South bound I15 take exit 91/Glendale Moapa. Left onto Glendale Blvd., continue to State Highway 168, turn right onto Hwy 168. Continue to Rox Rd. (almost 1 mile) turn Right.
