Logandale

Dudley Glen Hardy passed away peacefully Friday, November 13, 2020.  He was born June 19, 1931 in St. George, Utah to parents Dudley Leavitt and Vera Eva Witter Hardy.
Glen lived his early years in Bunkerville, Lathrop Wells, Glendale and Reno, Nevada before settling in Logandale around the age of 10.  He loved sports and excelled in football and basketball and served as the student body president for Moapa Valley High School.  After graduation he attended UNR where he graduated with a degree in agriculture science.  He then joined the Army where he was accepted in to flight school and became a helicopter pilot stationed in Korea. He returned home on assignment where he met and married Shirley Ann Whipple in the St. George LDS Temple on September 5, 1957.  He began his teaching a career at Dixie High School for a year and then moved back to Logandale to teach at Moapa Valley High School, where he taught for nearly 30 years having a huge impact on many of the youth in this valley.  During that time he also farmed and served on the water, irrigation and fair boards, and he was active in the Rotary Club.  He loved being involved in the community and serving others.  Glen also served as Bishop in the LDS church and served a mission with his Shirley for three years with the Moapa Indian Reservation people.
Most recently Glen spent hours refining his corn and other crops with his boys.  He has an abundance of corn, melons and squash this year which enjoyed giving away to all his friends and family.
Glen will be greatly missed by his family as he loved spending time with them, taking pictures of all their activities.  He loved riding around on his four wheeler and John Deere tractor, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife.  He thought she was perfect in every way.
Glen is survived by his loving wife, Shirley of 63 years; three children: Jim & Cindy, Stan & Lana, and Carol & Richard all of Logandale.  14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren with 3 on the way; his two sisters: Elaine and Bertha.  He is preceded in death by his parents; Dudley and Vera, two brothers: Grant (his twin) and Mike, and a grandson, Austin.  Services for the family will be held Wednesday, November 18 at 11:00 a.m. in Logandale, Nevada.
A livestream of the services will be provided, a link will be found on the obituary page (see mortuary website link below).   Interment will follow in the Logandale Cemetery.  Friends and family are invited to leave a message or memory in our online guest book at www.MoapaValleyMortuary.com
