Gilbert Dean Miller

Gilbert Dean Miller, 80, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving wife and children in Overton, NV on November 20, 2015. Gilbert was born on December 19, 1934 to James Arthur Miller and Clara Belle Bojorquez in San Bernardino, CA. He married Sharon Lynn Lyde on August 12, 1982 in Tonopah, NV.

Gilbert was born in San Bernardino and was raised in Muscoy, CA. After Gilbert graduated from high school, he began working as a surveyor for many years. While working mostly construction, he also worked at the Nevada Test Site and the Tonopah Test Range as an Operating Engineer for the Union. Gilbert loved boating and all water sports, and spending time camping at the lake with his family. He also loved cars, and spent several years restoring Chevy Corvairs. Gilbert was a loving father that spent much time with his children. He would work hard and play hard. He loved his parents, and spent many years taking care of his mother, Clara, before she passed away.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Sharon Lyde Miller of Overton, NV; his son Dennis (Sherry) Miller of Redlands, CA and his daughters; Pamela Rae (Wilson) Pendarvis of Fallon, NV, Debi (Paul) Zendejas of San Bernardino, CA, and Becky (Steve) Buecher of East Haven, CT; as well as 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, James and Clara, and his siblings; Mary Wolf, Dorothy Rauk, and James A. Miller Jr., and his cousin Earl Chamberl in.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Miller's Residence: 780 E. Lee Ave., Overton, NV on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 1 p.m. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
