Gerald A. Cook passed away unexpectedly May 10, 2014 in Mesquite, Nevada at the age of 78. He was born August 6, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Henry Arnold Cook and LaVinnia Brooks Lawrence.
Jerry attended Granite High School and worked as a land surveyor. He married Janice Maxine McEwan on July 18, 1952 in Salt Lake City and moved to Mesquite, Nevada in 1998 to enjoy the warm climate. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching golf, football and playing video poker at the casinos. Jerry took pride in his BBQ and grilling abilities. He always expected everyone to be on time for events. He was a good athlete and was an all-star in the American Legion Baseball League.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. Jerry is survived by his daughter Deborah Ramras (Jonathan), sons; Jerry (Leona) Cook, Scott Cook, Clary (Estrellita) Cook; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3401 S. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City.
