George Sechrist

George Luther Sechrist, age 81, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at his home in Overton, Nevada after a short battle with cancer. He was born February 5, 1932 in Gardenville, New York to George W. and Mildred Cline Sechrist. On December 8, 1990 he married Joanne Louise Henniger in Santa Cruz, California. George was raised on a farm in West Seneca, New York. He raised his family in Holland, New York and then moved to California in 1987. He had lived in Moapa Valley for the past 15 years. Back in New York, George owned and ran a 100 herd dairy farm. Later he worked as a truck driver hauling large machinery across the United States. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. George is survived by his wife, Joanne, of Overton; daughter Sandy (Brad) Feltz and son Jerry (Brenda) both of Holland, NY; three step daughters: Donna Baker of Buffalo, NY: Susan Baker of Las Vegas, NV; Anne (Gary) Steff of East Concord, NY; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; two sisters: Lois Smith of East Aurora, NY; Marion Marks of Reading, PA. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie and one brother, Bill.
