George Perkins
George Russell Perkins, age 68, died Sunday, June 19, 2016 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born March 2, 1948 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Arthur Marion and Ida LaPriel Cochran.
George grew up in Las Vegas. He served in the US Air Force then graduated from Utah State University. He enjoyed a career as an environmental Specialist for the Forest Service. This career allowed him to raise his family in different communities including: Driggs, Idaho; Weiser, Idaho; Tonopah, Nevada; Beaver, Utah to name a few. He later worked for Western Area Power in Phoenix, Arizona. He retired to Cedar City, Utah in 2007. He enjoyed music, fishing, camping, Dutch oven cooking, creating water features, gardening, and more recently Family History and Indexing.
Survivors include his wife, Iva of Cedar City, UT; two daughters and two sons: David of Las Vegas, NV; Heather (Brian) of Las Vegas, NV; Tiffany (Bradley) of Westly Chapel, FL; Michael (Sara) of Las Vegas, NV; 10 Grandchildren; and one brother, Richard (Barbara) of Vancouver, WA. He was preceded in death by both parents, two brothers (Ronnie and Cliff) and two sisters (Arlene and Madeline).
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Stake Center, 2555 N. St. Joseph Ave., Logandale, Nevada. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Pioneer Hill Memorial Cemetery.
