George Edward Browne III, age 57, died suddenly, Thursday, February 16, 2017 from complications of diabetes in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born October 28, 1959 in Long Beach, California to George Edward II and Barbara Jean Alverson Browne. On August 28, 1981 he married Pamela Houston in the St. George LDS Temple.
George spent his first nine years in Southern California before moving to Littleton, Colorado where he graduated from Columbine High School. At the age of 13, he and his sister joined the LDS Faith, he later served a mission for his church in the Toronto Canada Mission. After returning home, he attended Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah where he met his sweetheart. He raised his family in Las Vegas working in underground utilities construction and maintenance.
George had a gift for loving people. Everyone felt like they were his best friend. He loved to laugh and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved serving others, through the church, mentoring youth and in the community. He was an avid BYU and Broncos fan, and loved the gear. He will be remembered as a caring, thoughtful and fun father and husband.
Survivors include his sweetheart, Pam of Las Vegas; five daughters: Megan, Melissa, both of Las Vegas; Jodi (Aaron) Tate of Page, AZ; Kelsey (Brian) Bartholomay of Las Vegas; Cassidy of Rexburg, ID; four grandchildren; two sisters: Pamela (Denny) Huston of Temecula, CA; Starlyn (Jed) Alldredge of St. George, UT and one brother in law, Andre Bell of Temecula, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cheryl Bell.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Painted Desert Ward, 5750 N. Cimarron Road, Las Vegas, NV. Visitation will be Friday, February 24, 2017 from 6 - 8 p.m. and again Saturday morning from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Mesquite City Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. in Mesquite, Nevada.
