Gene Sandusky

Gene Sandusky, Jr., age 79, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in St. George, Utah. He was born March 11, 1936 in Tucumcari, New Mexico to Gene and Marcelina Sanchez Sandusky. On June 21, 1983 he married Mary Catherine Stoner in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Gene grew up in Las Vegas. As a little boy, he was a real cowboy and part of the Helldorado Parade and Junior Bucarroos. He enjoyed working as an electrician, first with the telephone company and later with the Operating Engineers Local 501, where he worked at several hotel / casinos on the strip. He enjoyed building race cars in the 50's. Gene loved shotguns, skeet shooting and riding bikes. All his activities were enjoyed with the company of others. He made friends easily and was loved. He was always ready to help with other's projects. He enjoyed animals and visits from the neighborhood children.
He is survived by his sweetheart, Cathy; one daughter, Gina and her husband Bob of Colorado and one sister, Carmen (RC) Rhoda of Cold Creek, NV.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary.
