Gary Lutz

Gary Lee Lutz, age 73, died Friday, January 23, 2015 in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born July 22, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan to Ralph Albert Wilhelm and Eleanore Caroline Keller Lutz. On May 20, 2005 he married Michelle Elizabeth Rhodes in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Gary lived most of his life in Detroit. He worked for over 25 years with the Detroit Municipal Police Department. He enjoyed being a police officer and serving the public. In 1988 he retired to Las Vegas, Nevada where he worked in security at the Riviera for fifteen years. He met his wife Michelle during his time there. He and Michelle then moved to Mesquite, Nevada where he enjoyed golfing, playing keno and the warm weather. He always enjoyed camping and the outdoors. He will be remembered for his integrity, his sense of justice and for his love of family.
Survivors include his wife, Michelle; one daughter, Gail Scanlon of Las Vegas, NV; one son, David of Marshall, MI; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Warren.
Private family services will be held.
