Gary Fullmer Castleton, age 75, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2024, at home in Alamo NV. He was born in Orem, Utah on September 28, 1949 to Richard Lowell Castleton and Jean (Fullmer) Castleton. He will be missed by his children Peter (Mary) Castleton, Rachel (Brandon) Hosier, and Kathryn (Harley)Harris, his brother Stephen Castleton, sisters Suzanne Gersch and Becky Shortell, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Gary married Christy Ann Stoddard on March 7, 1970. After living in Utah and Idaho for a few years they picked up their family and moved to Rachel, NV in 1979, where Gary became part owner in Penoyer Farms. Living in such a rural area required him to become a jack of all trades. If something needed to be fixed, he was able to do it.
Gary had a strong love for the outdoors. He spent many summers fishing the Snake River in Idaho Falls, ID, hunting ducks over the ponds in the fall/winter, and watching his grand children play softball/baseball in the spring. His love for his family was felt by all. He enjoyed his kids and grandkids visiting him often and always made sure he had jolly ranchers to give to the great grandchildren when they knocked on his bedroom door. Gary loved music and watching movies. If you ever saw him sitting in his truck, there’s no doubt you could hear his music playing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Jean Castleton, brothers Mark Castleton, Roger Castleton, and Scott Castleton.
Gary’s wishes are for his ashes to be spread over the Snake River where he can float the river one more time.
