Gary Lynn Austin

Gary Lynn Austin, age 77, died Tuesday, February 2, 2021 in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born June 12, 1943 in Delta, Colorado to Zed Griffin and Minnie Marskberry Austin. On April 18, 2007,he married Christine Lynn Foster in Reno, Nevada.

Gary grew up in Delta, Colorado and later in Merced, California. He served in the US Navy before settling into Ballico, California where served on the City of Merced Police Department for 30 years. While working as a police Sergeant, he also managed a 20 acre almond ranch. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and reading old westerns.

Survivors include his wife, Christine of Mesquite; daugher, Sarah (David) Marsh of Atwater, CA; two step daughters: Laura Hinkel of Des Moines, IA; Shannon (Ronny) Snow of Corydon, IA; grandchildren; Hope, Star and Richard. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Lynn Holte.
