Fred Carlyle Sheets, 67, of Mesquite, Nevada, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving wife by his side on August 30, 2009. He was born on December 9, 1941 in Rigby, Idaho to Glen and Elizabeth Sheets.

After serving 20 years in the service and traveling the world, Fred decided to make Mesquite, Nevada his home. While living there, he had many jobs at the casinos where he worked as a slot technician. On December 11, 1990, he married his best friend, Kaye and enjoyed 20 wonderful years together. Two of his favorite pass times were meeting his buddies at the Chalet CafAC. before and after playing a round of golf and playing the Keno machines at the casinos. Most of all, he enjoyed the presence of his wife and grandchildren and spending quality time with them. He was an amazing man, a very loving husband and grandfather. The best of the best. He will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his wife, Kaye; two stepchildren, Steven (Niki) West and Willie West; three wonderful grandchildren, Zachary, Aaron and Hunter; brother, DeRoy (Marlene) Sheets; four sisters, Glenna (John) Stalboerger, Betty (Johnny) Defa, Debbie Bronson and Olive Hoopes; also many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Edna Degn, June Sheets and Hattie Sheets; three brothers, Frank Sheets, Johnny Sheets and Bud McMillan.
