Eugene Sales

MESQUITE, NV - Eugene "Gene" Earl Sales, 82 passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2008 at his home in Mesquite, NV He was born to Earl and Eva B. Sales on January 8, 1926, in Riverton, Wyoming, in the shadow of Crow Heart Butte. He had an older brother, Francis (decreased).

He joined the Army Air Corp in 1943 and was discharged in 1945. He worked at Hill Air Force Base and the Union Pacific Railroad. After working both jobs for 10 years he devoted his career to Hill Air Force Base and retired in1981.

He meet Frances (Frankie) Thompson at a little cafAC./night club in Hudson, WY. He married the love of his life and best friend, Frankie, on June 13, 1946, in Independence, Missouri.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 62 years, Frankie, of Mesquite, and his four sons John (Kent) and Jeri Sales, Missouri; Winston and Annette Sales, Utah; Randy and Kelly Sales, Wyoming; and Craig and Cynthia Sales, California. He has 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

His first love besides his family was flying. He took great pride in his flying skills and his Cessna 170. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, boating, playing cards, and writing letters about their escapades and adventures. He was gifted in his letter writing and could turn a bad situation to a humorous one. Everyone could hardly wait for the next one to arrive. If he can find a way, don't be surprised to find another letter in your mailbox. He is a member of the Good Shepard Episcopal Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 26th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 2374 Grant Ave, Ogden, UT with Father Adam Linton officiating.
