Ethan Ron Mendenhall

May 17, 2004 — October 28, 2014

Ethan Ron Mendenhall peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on October 28, 2014 while at home surrounded by his family. Although only 10 years old, Ethan valiantly and bravely battled Stage IV Neuroblastoma since being diagnosed on October 30, 2009 at the tender, young age of 5 years old. He lived most of his life in Mesquite, NV where he was loved and supported by the community and by his peers. He loved being a Bulldog and living in Mesquite. When he was diagnosed with cancer he started ‘Ethan’s Team’. This group of angels includes thousands of beloved family and friends, health care personnel, as well as others who never met Ethan. He loved his team, he felt supported and loved by those who battled along side him. Ethan never gave up and never backed down. He submitted himself to seemingly endless treatments with strength and grace. He lived his life with a smile despite the trials he faced. His faith was strong, he knew his Heavenly Fathers plan and he now rests in Celestial glory.

Ethan is survived by his parents, Jeromy and Shantiell Mendenhall, his brother and best friend Bowen, a loving sister Marlee and his new baby brother Deacon, his grandparents Ron and Nancy Mendenhall and Steve and Edna Sherwood, his aunts and uncles Clark and Heather Colledge, Danielle and Chad Hales, Troy and Shayla Mendenhall, Rochelle and Kelly Nyberg, Paul and Stephanie Mendenhall, Monica and Ace Shaheen, Justin and Sara Mendenhall and 24 wonderful cousins. Ethan is preceded in death by his uncle Anthony Wade Colledge and many other valiant, young cancer warriors and friends he met during his journey fighting cancer.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 11am in the Mesquite Stake Center, 100 N. Arrowhead Lane, Mesquite, NV. A viewing will be on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and again Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m., both at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Mesquite City Cemetery.
