Long time Colorado resident, Emma Lou Bruner, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Highland Manor in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born October 14, 1926 in Butler, Oklahoma to Raymond and Martha (Prochnau) Pollard. She married the love of her life, Harold Homer Bruner on January 30, 1946 in Austin, Colorado. They had celebrated 67 years of marriage.
Emma Lou spent her childhood in Butler, OK and Montrose, CO. She attended school in Montrose before moving to Delta her senior year. She worked as a retail bookkeeper for many years. She sold Avon and taught water aerobics at the Delta Recreation Center. She swam, walked, and rode her trike. She bowled and golfed. Her hobby was coloring.
She is survived by one sister Janie (Bill) Bailey; a son Arthur (Sharon) Bruner of Fruita, CO; two daughters: Linda Sperry of Mesquite, NV, Robert Sperry of Maricopa, AZ; Tonya (Matt) Geerts of Goose Lake, IA; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, sister Betty Weber, and 3 brothers Jack, Glen and Bobbie Pollard.
Funeral services will be held at Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory on June 17, 2017.
