Emma Agnes Brown
Emma Agnes Brown age 85, passed away on July 8, 2009 in Mesquite, Nevada. She was born in Winnipeg, Canada on July 26, 1923. Agnes grew up in Winnipeg. She also lived in Detroit, MI, Escondido, CA, Las Vegas, NV and Mesquite, NV. Agnes's most cherished occupation was as a mother and grandmother. She was a member of The Salvation Army. She would volunteer as a bell ringer during the Christmas Season and had her own special spot at the El Rancho Market in Mesquite. She was currently a member of the Mesquite Lutheran Church. Agnes's other interests include talking with people, eating ice cream, and sweeping. She would often sweep to pass the time.
She is survived by her companion Harry Fielder; children, Sandra (David) Doughty of Las Vegas, NV, Robert (Anne) Jones of Chicago, IL; grandchildren Ryan (Erin) Jones, Erin Jones, Tamara Simmons, a great grandchild Colin Jones, sisters Ruby Bosko, Esther MacDonald, and Elsie Isaac. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Jones and Charlie Brown.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 4:00 PM at The Salvation Army on 2900 Palomino Lane in Las Vegas, NV. There will also be a memorial service on Friday, July 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Mesquite Lutheran Church located at 450 Turtleback Rd in Mesquite, NV. Memorial donations can be made to The Salvation Army (www.salvationarmy.org) or to the cancer research center of your choice in the name of Emma Agnes Brown.
